Why doesn't a commute start by itself?

Catchable never starts on its own. Tap I'm leaving now, use the Control Center control or the Action Button, or set up a Shortcuts automation: in the Shortcuts app, go to Automation, tap +, choose Leave, pick your home, set it to Run Immediately, and add the action I'm Leaving Now.

Why does it ask for "Always" location?

So a commute can keep running with your phone in your pocket, and end itself if you leave the station without boarding. Outside a commute, it only watches whether you're at one of your two stations. It works without location too; you just won't get a pace verdict.

Which trains does it cover?

BART only, and only routes with a direct train. If your commute needs a change, Catchable will say so when you set it up.

Is Catchable made by BART?

No. It is an independent app that uses BART's public real-time data.
